Shi Bytes is Shirley Parabia‘s personal aesthetic and style journal.

ShiBytes.com was purchased on Tuesday, 19 April 2016, nine days after I brought my first child, a beautiful baby girl, into the world. I owned this particular TLD before, having initially coined the domain name back in 2009. It eventually expired and would remain in online limbo until 2015, when I purchased it again in January. I did not renew it in early 2016, but it was free to register again a few months later.

I was originally going to use Very Shirley for my blog but I have since converted this domain to my web collective. Hence, Shi Bytes was officially launched as my personal journal on 19 February 2023.

As for the blog’s name, it is actually a bit of wordplay, a little something that has been percolating in my mind for a number of years now. “Shi” is one of my nicknames while “bytes” is a unit of measure for computer data as well as a homonym for “bites”. Thus, through this blog, I am offering the InterWebs en masse bite-sized aspects of my aesthetic.

This domain was purchased at NameCheap, with web hosting services are provided by MDD Hosting. This blog is powered by WordPress. The following plugins are used: F2 Tumblr Widget, Instagram Feed, JetPack, Really Simple SSL and Regenerate Thumbnails.

Our current design is named Rosemary, with very special thanks due to Sky and Stars, Haute Stock, Pixabay, StudioPress and Unsplash. All other original source/s of articles, images and other resources are always credited and/or linked back, whenever available.

Shi Bytes is available on your favorite social media channels and sharing networks. I have Pinterest Boards and a Tumblelog. You can also follow my accounts on FaceBook, Instagram and Twitter.
